Teaching Experience
My professional journey is fueled by a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. I am dedicated to equipping them with the necessary tools and support for success. With a deep passion for language and literacy, I focus on delivering research-based, systematic, and diagnostic instruction to enhance confidence and reading skills. I spent the first half of my career as a speech-language therapist in local elementary schools, where I realized that many students needed my support in a different capacity. This insight guided me toward specializing in dyslexia.

Why did you decide to become a CALT?
I became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) for several reasons. My children, who are divergent learners, inspired me to gain the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact on dyslexia. I am committed to excellence in everything I do, and ALTA represents the highest standards in the field. Pursuing CALT certification was a natural choice for me.

My most rewarding moments working with students with dyslexia are when they experience the empowering ‘aha’ moment—the realization that they can succeed in reading. Seeing their confidence grow is truly inspiring.
Your goal when working with kids with dyslexia?
My goal when working with children with dyslexia is to empower them by building their confidence and developing essential reading and language skills.
