Why did you decide to become a CALT?

I enjoy the science of reading – the diagnostic and prescriptive approach to therapeutic reading that is individualized and tailored to meet the needs of each student. Becoming a CALT allows me to offer expertise and skills that are essential to reading success for students and supportive to their families.

Favorite moment working with dyslexic students?

I love seeing how much students progress academically, but mostly seeing a burst of self-confidence as a reader and also a person!

Your goal when working with kids with dyslexia?

My goal when working with dyslexic students is to help them embrace being dyslexic and appreciate how different but AMAZING their brains are.

Your teaching style, personality?

I’ve been known to be a very patient teacher with a gentle teaching style. I like to incorporate games during our lessons while also getting to know my students on a personal level and things that they enjoy.
