Why did you decide to become a CALT?

While earning my M.Ed., I supported a college-aged student with dyslexia who had been trained using Take Flight at Scottish Rite. She had amazing skills. I began researching and finally found a Qualified Instructor in Arkansas. I am so excited to be able to implement Take Flight with my students to help them gain the skills needed for their learning differences.

Favorite moment working with dyslexic students?

I love that moment when a skill finally clicks for one of my students. It’s that moment when they have struggled in understanding a concept, put in hard work and practice, and we both know it’s working.

Your goal when working with kids with dyslexia?

My goal is to meet each individual needs to help student’s reach their maximum potential.

Your teaching style, personality?

I have a calm and nurturing style with my students.

Any family details?

My husband, Greg, and I have been married for 28 years and have four children, ages 26 to 10.
