Why did you decide to become a CALT?
As a first grade classroom teacher, I had many students who struggled to read. In order to meet their academic needs, I wanted to further my knowledge and skill set in the area of reading. Through various professional development opportunities, including the Texas Reading Academies, and learning more about the Science of Teaching Reading I became interested in working with students with dyslexia.
