Why did you decide to become a CALT?
I decided to become a CALT because my brother, sister, & father are all dyslexic. They all have innovative brains. However, if they would have received intervention in school some of their struggles could’ve been avoided, while maintaining their innovative mind. This inspired me to receive top credentials in teaching the English language.
Favorite moment working with dyslexic students?
My favorite moment has been getting my student from a kindergarten reading level to a fifth grade reading level in less than a year.
Your goal when working with kids with dyslexia?
My goal when working with dyslexic children is to help them learn to read & have that skill for a lifetime.
Your teaching style, personality?
I’m enthusiastic about each child’s personality & learning style. I like to instill confidence through teaching children critical thinking skills, self discovery, & success in lessons. I enjoy teaching a multi-sensory program, as it keeps the students more engaged.
